Cheaper roaming rates for included countries

Please note: roaming is switched off on your mobile service by default. To roam overseas you will need to email us at [email protected] to switch on roaming for each of the mobile numbers you wish to roam with.

Roaming information

Moose Mobile’s Roaming Packs provide you with standard talk & SMS and mobile data to use for 1 or 7 days while travelling overseas. Our $15 1-day roaming pack provides 50 minutes of calls, 50 SMS, and 1GB of data over a 24-hour period. Our $49 7-day roaming pack provides 150 minutes of calls, 150 SMS, and 5GB of data over seven days. It’s $15 for 24 hours or until 1GB of data is used (whichever comes first). If active, a pack will automatically start when you use your service overseas in a Zone 1 destination. Zone 2 roaming rates apply in all other destinations.

Need to receive a banking SMS while overseas?

Please email us at [email protected] to first activate the roaming service on your mobile number if you wish to receive an SMS while overseas. Receiving an SMS is FREE with Moose Mobile’s roaming service and you will not need a roaming pack if you are simply receiving an SMS from your Australian bank to your number. You will only start a roaming pack and incur costs with roaming if you send an SMS, make or receive a call, or use mobile data.

FAQ

Do I have roaming included by default?

By default your service will come with roaming switched off. This is to prevent you from accidentally spending on roaming while using your service while overseas. If would like to activate international roaming on your Moose Mobile service, please call us on 1300 566 673 or email [email protected].

How much data do I get with the roaming packs?

There are two types of roaming packs available: the $15 1-day pack which comes with 1GB of data over a 24-hour period, and the $49 7-day roaming pack which comes with 5GB of data over seven days.

Can I use the roaming packs in any country?

You will only be able to use our roaming packs in the list of countries outlined on this page. If you are travelling in a country outside of this list then you will not be able to use roaming or roaming packs at all.

Do I get unlimited MMS (picture messaging) on a roaming pack?

MMS messages will be counted as an SMS message when sent, but they will also use data from your roaming pack in order to send. Depending on what kind of media you are trying to send via MMS, this data amount will vary.

How do I cancel roaming?

To switch off roaming on your account, please call us once you have returned from overseas.
